The Opportunity

Thunderyard is seeking an experienced IT Budget & Acquisition Team Lead to support a federal customer in planning, managing, and optimizing technology investments that enable mission success. This role is ideal for a federal financial management professional who understands the intersection of IT, acquisition strategy, budgeting, and portfolio management within a complex government environment.

As the Budget & Acquisition Team Lead, you will serve as a trusted advisor to government leadership, providing strategic guidance on budget planning, technology investments, procurement strategy, and financial reporting. You'll collaborate across technical, financial, and acquisition organizations to ensure IT investments are effectively planned, funded, executed, and aligned with agency priorities while maintaining compliance with federal financial management and acquisition regulations.

Summary

Thunderyard is seeking a Federal IT Financial Management & Acquisition Lead to support a federal customer in managing IT budgets, technology investments, and acquisition activities. This role will work across program, technical, financial, and procurement teams to develop spend plans, monitor budget execution, support acquisition packages, and provide leadership with actionable financial reporting.

We're looking for someone who understands how federal IT programs get funded and how technology acquisitions move from requirement to award. The ideal candidate brings hands-on federal experience with IT budgeting and financial management, along with familiarity with areas such as CPIC, FITARA, FAR, TBM, and IT acquisition planning.
