Financial Controller

Position Summary

The Controller is responsible for directing and managing all accounting, financial reporting, and general ledger functions of the Bank. This position ensures the integrity of the Bank's financial records, compliance with regulatory and accounting requirements, and the effectiveness of internal controls. The Controller serves as a key financial leader and business partner, providing management with timely and accurate financial information to support strategic decision-making.

Working closely with executive management, external auditors, regulators, and department leaders, the Controller oversees the Bank's accounting operations in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), regulatory requirements, and Bank policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Direct and oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, payroll accounting, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for executive management and the Board of Directors.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of the Bank's financial records through appropriate reconciliations, reviews, and internal controls.
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Analyze financial results and provide meaningful variance analysis and recommendations to management.
• Monitor and maintain the Bank's chart of accounts and accounting policies.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

• Oversee the preparation and filing of regulatory reports, including Call Reports and other required filings.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, FDIC, Federal Reserve, OCC, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Stay current on accounting pronouncements, banking regulations, and industry developments that may impact the Bank.
• Coordinate regulatory examinations and respond to accounting-related inquiries from regulators.
