Financial Controller

About the Role

We are a growing organization that operates a family of companies spanning manufacturing, distribution, and service industries. We are seeking a hands-on Financial Controller / Accounting Manager to take full ownership of the books and records across all of our entities.

This is a high-ownership, fast-paced role for someone who thrives on variety and can move fluidly between businesses with very different operating models. The right person is highly organized, detail-driven, and able to shift gears at a moment’s notice as priorities change throughout the day. If you want a single-ledger desk job with a fixed routine, this is not it. If you want to run a complete accounting function across several real operating businesses, we would like to hear from you.

What You will Do

• Own full-cycle accounting for multiple legal entities, including general ledger, month-end and year-end close, and accurate, timely financial statements on both a per-entity and consolidated basis.
• Manage cost accounting, inventory, and work-in-process for the manufacturing and distribution businesses, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
• Handle job/project costing, billing, and revenue recognition for the service-side businesses.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, cash management, and banking relationships across all entities.
• Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and maintain clean, audit-ready records.
• Coordinate payroll, sales/use tax, and the supporting schedules needed for tax filings; serve as primary liaison to external accountants and auditors.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and continuously improve accounting processes and systems as the companies grow.
• Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis for ownership and the CFO—and re-prioritize quickly as new needs arise.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is a strong plus.
