Finance Manager

The Dance Complex is seeking a part-time Finance Manager to join our team. The position is based in Cambridge, MA with some remote hours available. The position reports to the Operations & Development Director and is extremely important to the financial health of the organization.

The Finance Manager is responsible for the day-to-day financial management and accounting operations of the organization. This position oversees financial reporting, budgeting, grant compliance, cash flow management, internal controls, and audit coordination. Working closely with the Leadership Team, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors, the Finance Manager ensures the organization’s financial health, transparency, and compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and government and foundation funding requirements.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative financial professional with strong nonprofit accounting experience, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to supporting the organization’s mission through sound financial stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Accounting

• Manage all day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking transactions, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and year-end reports.
• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Monitor all financial accounts for accuracy and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage cash flow and maintain corresponding cash flow projections.
• Process deposits, invoices, bills, and other financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for the Leadership Team, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors.
• Provide analysis of the statement of activities, restricted fund balances, cash flows, and sources and
