Director of Finance

The Providence Revolving Fund (PRF) is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) that provides financing to homeowners, small businesses, and developers to support historic preservation and equitable neighborhood revitalization across Rhode Island. We are seeking a part-time, hourly Finance Director to oversee our financial operations, from day-to-day accounting to strategic financial leadership, while ensuring alignment with our mission.

Schedule

Approximately 10–18 hours/week Reports to: Executive Director / CEO

Accounting and financial management

• Budgeting and forecasting reports: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders, including the board, funders, and regulatory agencies.
• Accounting operations: Oversee the accounting team in daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, benefits, and cash management.
• Cash flow management: Monitor and optimize the organization's cash flow, ensuring that there is enough cash on hand to meet operational needs.
• Capital and Investment oversight: Oversee and monitor the organization's capital funds and investment portfolio, and manage cash management policies in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Compliance and risk management

• Regulatory compliance: Ensure the PRF complies with all financial regulations, including specific nonprofit accounting standards from the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and requirements for the annual Form 990 filing. Compiles and files necessary Form 1099s and prepares for annual workers’ compensation audit.
