Position Summary

The Controller will be a highly organized, detail-oriented and accountability-driven individual reporting directly to the CAO. This role will play a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls and elevating the overall quality and reliability of the accounting team’s work. This includes but is not limited to A/R, A/P, G/L and managing the monthly close.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure quality control of the accounting team’s work, maintaining consistency, accuracy and completeness
• Ensure adherence to established accounting workflows, processes and internal controls
• Lead timely and accurate monthly consolidated close (US and Canadian entities)
• Provide guidance on accounting issues, non-standard transactions, and special situations
• Manage Event Reconciliation Accountants and Staff Accountants

Responsibilities

• Develop a thorough understanding of accounting workflows and proactively refine them for efficiency and accuracy
• Review and ensure consistent processing of A/P and A/R transactions
• Review and approve G/L entries
• Monitor team output and adjust priorities as necessary to meet deadlines and standards
