Controller

Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Controller. The Controller will oversee day-to-day financial operations, including managing accounting processes, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role will be responsible for maintaining internal controls, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and monitoring compliance with relevant accounting standards and policies. The Financial Controller will analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations, collaborate with leadership on strategic financial planning, and support audits and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Finance and Accounting, with the ability to apply principles to day-to-day operations.
• Experience preparing and reviewing Financial Statements and Financial Reporting in a corporate environment.
• Demonstrated Analytical Skills for interpreting financial data, identifying trends, and supporting decision-making.
• Proficiency with accounting software and financial systems; advanced skills in spreadsheets and data analysis tools.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls, with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.
• Proven experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or governmental accounting roles.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, SOX compliance, and non-profit accounting practices.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial report writing, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero is essential.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements for governmental or non-profit organizations.
• Excellent understanding of financial concepts including account reconciliation, general ledger management, and technical accounting principles.
