Summary: The Senior Budget Analyst supports the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) by providing expert-level budget formulation, execution, and financial analysis. The analyst ensures compliance with federal regulations, delivers high‑quality financial insights, and supports leadership in making informed resource decisions that align with mission priorities. This is a Hybrid- Remote position. Must be located in the Washington, DC Area. Responsibilities: Essential Job Functions:* Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic planning, resource allocation, and operational decision-making. * Monitor budget execution and financial performance to ensure compliance with federal regulations, appropriations law, and agency policies. * Develop financial reports, spending analyses, forecasts, and budget justifications for senior leadership. * Oversee financial management activities including budgeting, accounting, internal controls, financial reporting, and audit readiness. * Conduct financial reviews and identify risks, trends, and opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies. * Advise leadership on financial management policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and funding strategies. * Coordinate with program managers and stakeholders to evaluate funding requirements and recommend resource allocation solutions. * Support audits, corrective action plans, and financial management reviews involving internal and external oversight organizations. * Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of financial data and financial management systems.
