Senior Advisors

The FSRA is the financial services regulator in the UK Overseas Territory of St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha. The FSRA also supports the St Helena Government in its policy initiatives to expand the financial services industry in St Helena, including the development of St Helena as a location for international company formation, fiduciary services and wealth management.

We are particularly keen to develop St Helena as a domicile for impact investment managers and for companies that are committed to corporate sustainability and environmentally responsible business practices.

The FSRA now wishes to appoint two individuals to act as Senior Advisors to the FSRA.

For these appointments, we are interested to hear from individuals with the following experience:

Senior Advisor # 1 (Commercial Experience)

(i) Senior management experience in an international TCSP or trustee company

(ii) Senior-level experience in a law firm, advising on private wealth, trusts or tax

Senior Advisor # 2 (Sustainability/ESG Experience)

(i) Significant experience in ESG, sustainable finance or impact investment matters

(ii) Senior-level experience with an impact investment management firm, ESG assurance and reporting firm, or as a sustainable finance strategy advisor.

In each case, the purpose of the role is to help St Helena achieve its ambition to develop as a niche financial centre that is attractive to businesses and investors with a commitment to sustainability. We would therefore be particularly pleased to hear from individuals with strong professional networks and business relationships that might facilitate that objective.

The roles are not based in St Helena and may be performed remotely.

Although St Helena is closely connected to the UK, we are keen to appoint individuals with a diverse range of experience and, accordingly, we invite applications from suitably qualified individuals, regardless of their location.

Each role pays a fixed annual fee of US$ 7000, with an expected time commitment of 14 or 15 days each year. The role also includes a familiarisation visit to St Helena during the term of appointment.

The roles might be of interest to individuals with a portfolio of non-executive or commercial advisory roles, wishing to add a public service role to their portfolio.

Successful candidates may be appointed as members of the FSRA under section 3 of the Financial Services Ordinance 2008.
