About us
Renosy was founded with one goal: to make real estate a standard practice for asset building — anytime, anywhere, seamlessly. In 2024, RENOSY acquired Renters Warehouse, one of the largest residential property management companies in the country. Bringing these two companies together means more resources, more markets, and a shared commitment to making real estate ownership more profitable and less complicated for everyday investors. That's RENOSY by Renters Warehouse.
Job Summary
The Manager of Corporate Finance reports to the Controller and leads two Staff Accountants in managing the company’s general accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, revenue recognition, and the month-end and year-end close. We are looking for a hands-on, technology-minded accountant who streamlines processes through automation, documents them in clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and maintains clean, organized leadsheets supporting every general ledger account. This role also upholds strong internal controls and plays a key part in the company’s annual external audit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Supervise, train, and develop two Staff Accountants, including assigning and reviewing close tasks, journal entries, and reconciliations, and providing ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including maintaining the close calendar and checklist, to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain clean, organized, audit-ready leadsheets supporting every general ledger account, with balances tied each period to subledgers, reconciliations, and source documentation.
- Complete and/or review bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, accrued expenses, and prepaid expenses, ensuring reconciling items are researched and resolved timely.
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries for general accruals and others, including but not limited to cost allocations, amortization, leases, debt and interest payments, accounts payable, accounts receivable, income taxes, and payroll.
- Identify and lead opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes using system functionality, integrations, journal entry upload templates, advanced Excel tools (e.g., Power Query, macros), and emerging technologies such as AI and automation tools, reducing manual effort and the risk of error.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all recurring accounting processes, ensuring documentation is current, organized, and sufficient to support cross-training, business continuity, and audit requests.
- Work extensively in cloud-based general ledger and property management software systems (e.g., NetSuite and AppFolio), serving as a power user and partnering with system administrators on configuration, reporting, and integrations.
- Oversee accounting of the strategic “fix and flip” business, including accurate inventory tracking and associated gain/loss recognition.
- Monitor and manage company cash flow, bank balances, and transfers to ensure liquidity and optimize the use of company funds.
- Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
- Serve as a key point of contact for the annual external audit, coordinating and preparing responses to auditor requests and supporting schedules.
- Collaborate with the Controller and senior leadership to support business planning, compliance initiatives, and ad hoc financial analysis.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
