Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Interim Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations during a 4–6 month engagement. This individual will oversee the accounting function, supervise a Senior Accountant and Accounts Payable activities, manage equity compensation accounting, improve accounting systems and processes, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has significant controllership experience, strong GAAP knowledge, expertise with stock option accounting, and the ability to quickly evaluate and improve existing accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting

• Oversee and maintain accurate financial books and records in accordance with GAAP.
• Utilize QuickBooks to manage accounting operations, maintain the general ledger, and support financial reporting.
• Review and organize current-year accounting activity and prepare complete, accurate, and timely financial statements.
• Pull together current-year financial reporting, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to provide management with meaningful financial information.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other management reports.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other professional service providers.

Team Leadership

• Provide oversight, direction, and support to the Senior Accountant.
• Review accounting work for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
