Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all accounting functions, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and provide strategic financial insights to support organizational growth. Your expertise will drive accurate financial management, streamline processes, and uphold the highest standards of transparency and accountability within our organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory requirements.
- Lead the preparation of detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and regulatory filings.
- Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Oversee cash management activities, including forecasting, cash flow analysis, and banking relationships to optimize liquidity.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls for financial processes, ensuring adherence to policies and safeguarding organizational assets.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms to streamline financial operations and improve reporting efficiency.
- Coordinate external audits and manage compliance with governmental and non-profit accounting standards when applicable.
- Support budgeting processes by providing accurate financial data and conducting variance analysis for informed decision-making.
- Lead technical accounting initiatives related to regulatory reporting, financial concepts interpretation, and complex transactions involving debits & credits or double entry bookkeeping.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a senior accounting or finance role with a strong background in corporate accounting principles.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance requirements, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial report writing, account reconciliation, balance sheet management, and cash flow analysis.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; experience with financial management tools is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of technical accounting concepts including payroll processing, account analysis, regulatory reporting requirements, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Excellent analytical skills combined with a solid foundation in budgeting, forecasting, and financial management strategies.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to stakeholders at all levels while maintaining high attention to detail. Pay: $95,340.89 - $120,410.53 per year
