Job Summary

As a Finance & Accounting Expert, you’ll turn financial data into clear, reliable records and reporting. You’ll support accounting operations, analyze results, and help maintain accurate financial controls across relevant business or nonprofit settings. Your impact: Accurate reporting and timely reconciliations help leaders, colleagues, and stakeholders make informed financial decisions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger records, prepare journal entries, and apply accrual accounting, double-entry bookkeeping, and debits and credits.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, and balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements, regulatory reports, budgets, forecasts, and written analyses; interpret results and assess cash flow.
• Support audits, tax work, financial compliance, regulatory compliance accounting, and internal controls, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
• Analyze accounts and financial performance; apply technical accounting and relevant standards, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Skills

• Core: Accounting and finance experience; financial accounting, corporate accounting, nonprofit accounting, public accounting, governmental accounting, financial management, financial analysis, and financial acumen.
• Reporting and controls: Financial reporting, report writing and interpretation, statement preparation, account analysis, account reconciliation, auditing, regulatory reporting, and financial compliance.
• Tools: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, Excel data analysis, and the VLOOKUP function; experience with financial software or accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, PeopleSoft, Sage, or Xero.
• Additional knowledge: Corporate finance, financial services, private equity, Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), securities law, wills, trusts and estate law, and tax experience, as relevant to the role.
• Preferred: Mentoring experience and familiarity with forecasting, budgeting, cash flow analysis, and financial concepts.

Pay: $40.00 - $90.00 per hour

Work Location: Remote
