About the role

Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for oversight of all accounting and reporting activities. This position will lead all day-to-day accounting operations of a budget of $30 million and supervise the team with functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and grants administration. The Controller will ensure that SHELTER, Inc. and its affiliates have the systems and procedures in place to support effective program management and conduct flawless audits. The Controller will work closely with program and administrative staff to support proper financial accounting.

What you’ll do

Finance and Accounting

• Direct and enhance the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely completion of all accounting activities.
• Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Oversee and manage all aspects of the general ledger, including fixed assets and property accounting.
