Controller – Real Estate / Property Accounting

About the Role

Join Synergy Management Group as our Controller and take full ownership of the accounting and finance function for a growing portfolio of real estate entities. In this high-trust role you will own the books across several distinct real estate LLCs, partner directly with ownership on the numbers that drive decisions, and build the financial systems that keep a property management operation running smoothly. We offer a salary starting at $90,000/year (commensurate with experience), a hybrid work schedule, real ownership of your work, and a direct line to leadership.

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented accounting leader who can serve as the steward of all financial record keeping while bringing strong organizational discipline to a multi-entity real estate business. As part of our hiring process, all candidates will be required to complete a background check.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee and maintain accurate books and records across multiple real estate LLCs.

- Manage all day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and payroll.

- Produce monthly financial reports and present them clearly to ownership.

- Lead month-end and year-end close, including bank reconciliations, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial data in accordance with GAAP.

- Coordinate supporting documentation for tax preparation and apply working knowledge of federal and state tax laws to ensure compliance across all entities.

- Track loans and insurance policies, including balances, payments, renewals, and key dates.

- Develop budgets and financial forecasts to support operational and ownership decision-making.

- Design and implement internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy.
