Job Description
Chief Financial Officer
We are seeking a visionary, strategic, and results-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations and guide our next phase of corporate growth. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will oversee all aspects of financial management, strategic planning, investor relations, and capital allocation.
The ideal candidate brings a unique hybrid of deep healthcare sector expertise and robust sell-side capital markets experience (e.g., investment banking, equity research, or M&A advisory). This leader will play a pivotal role in positioning the company for potential transactions or strategic partnerships, while expertly navigating the complex regulatory, reimbursement, and operational dynamics of the healthcare industry.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Financial Leadership & Capital Markets
- Partner with the CEO and Board of Directors to formulate and execute the company’s long-term strategic vision, financial roadmap, and corporate growth strategy.
- Leverage extensive sell-side experience to manage relationships with investment banks, institutional investors, equity research analysts, and potential acquirers or strategic partners.
- Lead capital-raising initiatives, including debt and equity financing, structured financing, etc.
- Act as the chief financial storyteller to external stakeholders, effectively communicating the company’s value proposition, financial performance, and market positioning.
2. Healthcare Industry Financial Acumen
- Drive financial strategy tailored to the nuances of the healthcare sector, including value-based care models, managed care, provider networks, healthcare IT, or life sciences regulatory environments.
- Navigate complex revenue cycles, payor mix dynamics, reimbursement trends (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers), and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, Stark Law, ACA guidelines).
- Optimize financial performance across units, identifying opportunities for margin expansion, cost efficiencies, and strategic resource allocation.
3. Mergers, Acquisitions (M&A), and Strategic Partnerships
- Spearhead the evaluation, financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, and integration of M&A targets, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
- Utilize sell-side transaction expertise to structure deals favorably, maximize enterprise valuation, and ensure seamless post-merger integration.
4. Financial Operations, FP&A, and Governance
- Oversee all financial functions, including Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), accounting, treasury, tax, audit, and risk management.
- Establish rigorous financial controls, KPI dashboards, and data-driven forecasting models to track business health and drive operational accountability.
- Ensure robust corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and accurate financial reporting in alignment with GAAP (or SEC standards if public-ready).
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5–7 years serving as a CFO, VP of Finance, or Head of FP&A within a growth-stage or enterprise healthcare organization.
- *Demonstrated Sell-Side Experience*: Proven background in investment banking (Healthcare coverage group), equity research, or senior corporate finance roles with deep exposure to sell-side advisory, capital markets, valuation, etc.
- Deep Healthcare Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of healthcare reimbursement models, regulatory frameworks, industry economics, and healthcare delivery trends.
Skills & Competencies
- Exceptional strategic thinker with a track record of scaling businesses, driving successful M&A transactions, and executing sell-side transactions.
- Outstanding communication and executive presence, with the ability to interface seamlessly with Wall Street, institutional boards, investors, and healthcare leaders.
- Advanced financial modeling, valuation techniques, and data analytics capabilities.
- Uncompromising integrity, ethical standards, and alignment with our mission to transform healthcare delivery.
